April 2026 – Call For Board Members

Largs Community Development Trust is looking for new Trustees to join our Board at an exciting stage in our journey.

We are a growing organisation with a clear purpose: to support and strengthen our local community. While we are starting small, we have ambitious plans—including developing a community centre and bringing local organisations together to create lasting, positive change for the people of Largs.

As a Trustee, you’ll play a key role in helping us turn these ambitions into reality.

What does a Trustee do?

Trustees are responsible for the overall direction and governance of the Trust. This includes:

  • Setting our strategic vision and priorities
  • Ensuring we comply with OSCOR rules & regulations
  • Supporting & constructively stretching the team to do better.
  • Acting as advocates for our work within the community
  • Making decisions collectively and take collective responsibility.
  • Ensuring funds are used responsibly and aligned with the mission.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

We are keen to hear from anyone who is interested in volunteering their time, and would be particularly interested in hearing from people with experience or knowledge in:

  • IT and digital systems
  • Financial awareness of budgets and accounting.
  • Data protection and GDPR compliance
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Data analysis and impact measurement
  • Community Consultation

These skills will help us build strong foundations as we grow and demonstrate the difference our work makes.

We also want to hear from you if…

We’re committed to building a board that reflects our community. We would especially welcome interest from:

  • Young people
  • Local residents of Largs, Skelmorlie and Fairlie
  • People working in, or with lived experience of accessing frontline services

Whether you’re early in your career or bring lived experience from within the community, your perspective is valuable.

What’s involved?

  • This is a voluntary (unpaid) role
  • Attendance at regular board meetings
  • Opportunities to contribute to meaningful, long-term change in Largs
  • Support, induction, and development opportunities provided

No previous trustee experience is required—we’re looking for people who care about Largs and want to make a difference.

Interested?

If you’d like to be part of shaping the future of Largs, we’d love to hear from you.
